City of Moulton Budget

Being fiscally responsible is an important task for the Moulton City Council, and the establishment of the City of Moulton’s annual budget is its most important function. The budget presents in financial terms the plan for accomplishment of municipal objectives during the forthcoming fiscal year. The budget preparation requires a comparison of the anticipated revenues with proposed programs, and establishment of priorities that are based on service demands or prior commitments to projects. In addition, the budget serves to provide the public with an understandable financial plan that plainly describes activities that will be undertaken during the next fiscal year and the extent and specific types of services that will be performed. 

In accordance with the Texas Local Government Code, the annual budget for the fiscal year beginning August 1, 2009 and ending July 31, 2010 was approved by the Moulton City Council at its July 8, 2010 meeting.
